The purpose of the Forum is “to promote the highest quality of life and general wellbeing of those living in the area, without distinction of sex, age, socio-economic standing/class, disability, sexual orientation, colour, race or political, religious or other opinion.”
Our current Residents’ Forum Constitution was agreed in 2011 and amended slightly in September 2014. Further changes were agreed at the AGM in October 2022, primarily to extend the catchment area to include the whole of the Brandwood and Kings Heath ward. We are recognised as a legitimate neighbourhood forum by Birmingham City Council.

The area we serve was agreed at the AGM in October 2022, and is described in the Constitution as “cover[ing] the neighbourhoods within and that overlap with the Brandwood and Kings
Heath ward”. By this we mean the areas included in the original membership area as given in the following map:

as well as the area of the current Brandwood and Kings Heath council ward:

Day to day the Forum is run by a Management Committee, which usually meets each month. All meetings are open to members of the public to attend.
We also organise public meetings on issues of particular public interest, including meetings with elected officials and hustings for the council elections. We also convene task groups to pursue specific matters (e.g. road safety) from time to time. Management Committee members are appointed at Annual General Meetings (AGMs) or co-opted between AGMs by the Management Committee.
