If you’ve ever complained about the amount of litter around Kings Heath, now’s your chance to do something about it. Your help is needed as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
The idea – backed by Keep Britain Tidy (KBT) and Birmingham City Council – is for neighbours, friends or local community groups to get together and to do a Spring Clean in their neighbourhood.
It’s all happening over the weekend of 4 and 5 March 2017.
You can either join an existing group or you can get together with other people to form your own group.
If you’re already in a club, then the club can be part of the campaign.
If you’re an individual who wants to find a local activity that’s already being organised, go to the Great British Spring Clean website then:
- Scroll down the page and you’ll find a map
- Type your postcode into the box on the right
- Click the button labelled ‘Find’ and you’ll see details of local activities
If your club wants to organise its own activity, please register the club. If you do that, Keep Britain Tidy will provide sacks, and log and publicise events. Birmingham City Council is working with KBT and will help local clean up groups with sacks, collection points, equipment, fly-tipping postcards, Zero Hero packs and templates that can be used for the day such as posters to publicise your clean up.
It’s all happening on 4 and 5 March so if you want to be part of the action, you need to act now.
